First International Basic Laparoscopy Course for residents and young urologists of the CAU
First International Basic Laparoscopy Course for residents and young urologists of the CAU.
After 4 years of negotiations and viability agreements, finally, between December 5 and 7, the First International Basic Laparoscopy Course for residents and young urologists of the CAU was held. The course, sponsored by an agreement signed by the Brazilian Society of Urology (SBU), IRCAD and CAU, was held at IRCAD Latin America facilities in the city of Barretos, São Paulo, Brazil, and was attended by 42 students from different countries of the CAU universe and 21 teachers, Brazilians and foreigners.
The course provided lectures, wet laboratory practices where participants had the opportunity to develop their laparoscopic skills in live animals using first-rate equipment and materials, as well as an uro-oncology workshop with live robotic surgery, in a fraternal environment. new friendships between students and teachers.
Attendees praised the level of the course, IRCAD facilities and the support, always available, of all the teachers involved.
Without exception, all students believe that the course provided great learning in their academic background, and it was not uncommon to be informed that they had never had access to this level of course.
The teachers involved were happy and honored to be able to share their experiences with this special group of classmates seeking growth and development in urology.
SBU, IRCAD and CAU are happy and confident that they have provided the best that could be offered to our members.
The objective now is to continue working to be able to carry out new editions of this course, including an increasing number of participants, and thus contribute to the development of a quality urology for all members of the CAU.
